Weakness of Being Wicked

1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.
4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies.
6 He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”  Psalm 10:1-6
God is not fully absent from us right now even though it feels that way sometimes. These first six verses of Psalm 10 we see a worried man who is feeling separated from God as if He was allowing the Psalmist to stand on his own during a time of trouble. Is this God letting the wicked get so bad that they cannot escape from their own undoing? Seems like it doesn’t it. As I was reading this I was convicted into the wickedness of today’s world.
Many people have now heard of a man named George Soros who is very rich and has been accused of many wicked things. He preys on the weak minded who have turned away from God yet need a savior so he offers large amounts of money with the cost of doing his dirty work or schemes of his design. This man has fed the greed of others while desiring a one world open society absent from God. He believes he is above the law and mostly because he has so many governments in his pockets and he does not fear for his life.
You know what, he will be the first to fall. His kingdom which he is trying to create will diminish with time as people are actually beginning to wake up from the spell they were under. Yes his agents are still out there in plain sight, trying to keep people from returning to moral and upright ways, but they will not succeed.
America is not the only country that is dealing with this. The sickness of sexual immorality has become a world-wide epidemic and he is using it to control them as if to say, “I know what you have done, follow me and tracks will be covered.” He has control of the pedophiles, LGTBQZ, far left feminists, radicals, racists, baby killers, you name it he’s in control. His invincibility will be stripped away just as the previous ultra- rich world controlling families have found out: Money does not happiness make, nor can it save you from eternal damnation. In fact, it just might speed up death no matter how much is spent on trying to stay alive. No one leaves this world unscathed. But those who have Christ in their life will fare better at the judgement. We, not the wicked, will not be shaken. We, not the wicked, will not be moved. We all will suffer but our joy will come.
Be of Good faith, follow God’s instruction and you will live in His arms for eternity. Amen

The Wedding Feast

Jesus first Miracle, according to the standard Scriptures was at the wedding in Cana in Galilee. He turned Water into Wine. Now this was a good thing because the water was actually not safe to drink but it was even better because it was the best liquids the participants ever tasted.

Today I officiated my first wedding and I tell you what, I was nervous as all get out until I gave it all to God. Yeah I flubbed a couple of words here and there but God saw us through it. I was not at the actual rehearsal so I went in cold but the best way to do something for God is really a trial by the proverbial fire. After some technical things with the sound and the photographer and making sure the bride, groom and I were all on the same sheet of music everything went extremely well. Another thing I was not prepared for was that the wedding was outside. So I bet now you are wondering, is he tooting his own horn? No, I am not. I could not have done it without God and remembering the Miracle at Cana. There was a lot of nervousness around but it was easily removed when I prayed and reminded everyone that marriage between a man and a woman is the only type of marriage ordained by God while we are human. Everything went easy because God was present. There was no outstanding miracle and there was some disappointments but those too were rendered as unnecessary thanks to God being by my side and in the Words of Love read from 1 Corinthians 13 by a young lady who spoke in front of public for the first time.

This was all about firsts today, what has God done in your life that were firsts? If we do not listen to God through the Words read from Scripture, spoken in church, or even seen on this site, how will our firsts be? Mistakes are made without God being at the forefront of everything we do. He expresses this numerous times in Scripture but you know the one thing that stands out the most? We are His and His alone.

Today was a blessed day because I witnessed two very good friends become man and wife who trusted me to preside over their wedding. They wrote their own vows and in the grooms usual fashion just took the normal vows and added a very personal touch. The bride did the same but it was even more personal. Both were from the heart and beautiful. The barriers of fear and doubt were broken as they spoke those words to each other. Hearts were filled in the entire party present and Joy had spread as they shared their joy.

I could ramble on this all day but I’ll be nice. Weddings are a wonderful time of great joy so it really was only fitting that Jesus first recorded miracle (outside of the extra biblical texts of His childhood) was at a wedding. Jesus changed things that day, yeah there were other miracles by other prophets but Jesus miracle was done in private really without many but His mother knowing. This miracle would be the one that stands out for centuries and even today. He took care of the drink at the wedding feast so no one would thirst. I wonder if He may have healed some people through the drink that day and those were not recorded but one thing for sure, the eyes of the Apostles were opened to begin to see Jesus for what He would be to them.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for opening my eyes today and reminding me of the truth of Your heart within us. Bringing together two opposite people whom you created to become one taught me many things but mostly that true love really knows no bounds between a man and a woman. There is no truer love than yours and when it is felt throughout these celebrations, fear, anxiety and  hopelessness disappear. Lord, I wish the world could be as it was at creation with Your love all around us. Be with us Father through these dark and worrisome times Come Lord Jesus and take up your throne. Amen

God’s Perspective NOT Ours

Proverbs 12:15 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel

How many times are we going to go through this before eyes are opened and it is too late? Numerous times humanity has thought themselves the rulers of their own destinies but oh how they are so wrong. We are not our own and there are many who think they can test the waters. Now, Jesus will still reach out into the waters in which we sink because that is what He does. However, it still remains a matter of full acceptance and embracing the Commandments and the Teachings of Jesus.

Proverbs 21:2–3 2 Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, But YHVH weighs the hearts. 3 To do righteousness and justice Is desired by YHVH more than sacrifice.

Jesus had come into this world as a member of His chosen people, the Israelites, and He changed many but there were still more who just couldn’t see God right in front of their eyes as they were blinded by the world. Are we not just as blind today? The Adversary is on every doorstep, in homes, in the media, in the government. He is the prince of this world but not the King. He has control over many souls but not all. Jesus will win them back unless there is a total turn from God. But here is the thing, Jesus needs us to show the lost, the way.

The Holy Spirit is here to help guide us to do what is right in God’s eyes but sometimes temptation is too great and the veil is closed for a time, sometimes permanently. We cannot give in to temptations much less commit the sins extending from the temptations and remain right in God’s eyes. No matter how much we say we love God and Jesus if we do not have it right in our hearts and minds, we are not right with God.

Since the 1960s carnal and drug induced behaviors have rocked society to its core. We had returned to the ways of the early Greeks, Romans, and other Pagan religious practices to include a distinct move towards devil worship. Not saying it was not around before that but this is the time in our country where we began to really separate ourselves from God.

I spoke in an earlier blog about the Ephraim warnings from Habakkuk. Well here we are again but this time taking it deeper. Let’s go back to the time of the Exodus as it was entering its final years. We see in Deuteronomy 12:8-9,     “You shall not do at all what we are doing here today, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes; for you have not as yet come to the resting place and the inheritance which YHVH your Elohim is giving you.

Because of the wandering in the desert, certain rules were in place and the Tabernacle was mobile. What is being stated above is the time when they will be settled and there will be one place of full worship of only God. It was also concerning the aliens (non-Jews) and youth among them who had not been fully integrated into the society because of the move. This will be done upon entering and settling into the Land of Promise. There will be those who refuse and God was already aware as was Moses, which is one reason this statement was made.

After Joshua the time of the Judges began. Now this was a time where people were chosen to judge and be priest over the tribes. We know that since the Israelites had not done specifically as God told them but had mercy on some of the indigenous occupants, there was trouble.

Judges 17:6

In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

This happened more than once so we see it again in the exact same verbiage four chapters later:

Judges 21:25

In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

So yes they did not learn. So many people died because they forgot God and His right perspective for us.

So many people today are doing the same thing, ignoring God’s Word and His Statutes. The moral behaviors and laws of the land have changed to meet the minds of those whose mental state and depravity are the “new way of thinking”. God’s rules are eternal, man is temporary so this too shall pass but for how long oh Lord how long must we deal with this immoral time. This is a time where Love is a four letter word and God is no longer the center of many lives. This must change. We must be the instruments of this change. Stop allowing these perversions from entering our children’s minds so they become the norm. I am not saying beat the Bible into them but if that is what it takes, give them God’s Love, His Compassion, His Mercy, and His Tough Love to show them what right looks like. Do not fall into the devil’s snare, evade temptation, Love and He loves us.

Stop and Thank the Creator

Amazing Sunset

So many times people will look and think, “oh this is beautiful”, or “isn’t that a wonderful painting?”, when they really should be thinking and thanking the Creator of all things. This was one subject that hit me last night when we were sitting in worship with a group of young Christian College students Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville last night. I was there playing the Cajon (was coerced into playing) while a student played guitar and we just let the Spirit take us in the music. We sang many songs of worshipfulness and gave testimony to many things. My faith in the up and coming Christian adult generation was restored.

We are God’s greatest creation, even the angels bow before us.

One young man in his early twenties who had a real rough life had given everything to God and spoke up about thanking the Creator as we look upon things that He created and the things that one He created then created as well (if that makes sense). In other words, we look at the beauty of nature and see what God has done in this world and thank Him but when we see a beautiful painting and glorify the artist, should we not also thank God for creating the artist and giving him or her that gift of creation.

Today we went to see some rebuilt old cars both national and international and all I could think of was thanking God for giving these creators the technical knowhow and the designs for these modes of transportation. Though some looked weird and futuristic, is was still amazing that some of these ideas even moved. Even the computer that I am writing this on this very second, God had given the gift to someone to be able to put this together so that I can write these words.

1 Thessalonians 5:18                                                                                                                     Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

It is amazing what we take for granted this day and age and only grip at God for natural disasters and when someone dies. Why does it seems we are always in the blaming zone when we should be thanking God for the water, the wind, the disruption making way for the new. We have sorrow for the loss of life and material things, yes but that doesn’t mean we should be angry with our loving Father.

The next time someone tells you to stop and smell the roses, say to the individual I will stop, thank God for creating the roses and then smell and see the beauty in God’s Creation.

Have You Received the Call to Repentance

The Minor Prophet, Joel, writes about the “Day of the Lord” which is a common theme in many of the prophets who wrote around and on either side of time of the exile. The particular section of Joel chapter 1 verses 13-20 seems to be directed towards the priests and the elders but can be interpreted and used by us as God’s People.  Why is it important to repent? Well, if you want to live in peace and the encompassing joy found in the presence of the Father then repenting (confessing and not just saying sorry), is what is desired to take part in the Salvation of our souls.

In the opening verse of this section the priests are told to literally humble themselves because the sacrifices and offerings no longer please God. Joel is exclaiming the coming of the day where a more personal relationship with be required and sacrifices will take on a whole new meaning. The physical sacrifices are withheld because the personal sacrifices and repentance have a more relational meaning to God than just burning something and eating it.

God seeks the true emotions of a man rather than the physical “I’m sorry” an leaving it at that. The deeper emotional response of repentance means you are confessing then committing yourself to make things right by exclaiming to the world your relationship with God. We as Christians do this while exclaiming our personal relationship with Christ especially if it comes from recognizing and repenting from a dark period in our lives. And God knows we all have had a few of those (well He does).

Joel tells the elders to gather the people and bring them together as an act of public mourning and repentance for falling away from God. This was also a call to prepare for the coming day of the Lord, the day of the destroyers function and God’s salvation of His People. When the dreadful day comes, all will seem lost to those who do not know God, have followed His precepts, truly repented of their sins, and accepted their fate belonging to Christ and not themselves. We must be ready for this day as well.

The “Day of the Lord” will soon be upon us if you look at all the astronomers and nay Sayers, dreamers of dreams, and some who are just talking through their teeth to make a buck. What some do is try to date it using the lunar calendar, the feasts, and other events in Judaism. Can they all be trusted? No. Should we at least pay some attention? If the credible person is speaking and has no other prophesy about the world ending then maybe. Christians and Jews who follow God’s Law and have repented will see the suffering, they might suffer a little but joy will come in the morning.

Brothers and Sisters, the time is now to confess, repent, commit. Accept Jesus fully before it is too late. Even the best Christians still need to repent every once in a while. So Go Do.
