Beware Those Who Scoff God

First, understand this: during the Last Days, scoffers will come, following their own desires and asking, “Where is this promised ‘coming’ of his? For our fathers have died, and everything goes on just as it has since the beginning of creation.” But, wanting so much to be right about this, they overlook the fact that it was by God’s Word that long ago there were heavens, and there was land which arose out of water and existed between the waters, and that by means of these things the world of that time was flooded with water and destroyed. It is by that same Word that the present heavens and earth, having been preserved, are being kept for fire until the Day of Judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed. 2 Peter 3:3-7 CJB

So why put this on 1 December? There are so many scoffers in this world today. The Christmas celebration has become a market for things of the world that bring a false sense of happiness and condition our children to desire things over desiring the true reason for the season. We are in the Jewish year 5778 which has been called the year of the Messiah. This means they are in total preparation for His coming. How do we recognize the times? God Himself said look to the stars for signs and know that the Words in Scripture are not just a good read but instructions and preparatory warnings for getting right with God before the time of judgement  (the destruction of the old and creation of the Kingdom).

This is the world we currently live in.  Where a criminal who has been deported from a country he has entered illegally numerous times gets away with murder because his defense said it was an accident. What is this person doing back in the country in the fist place? So the guilty are set free and the innocent suffer? Is good evil and evil good? The family lost a daughter who had a lot of promise. A good family is lost because man judged the guilty as innocent. God help us.

Our time is short. The evils of this world are running rampant. Ways opposite of God’s teachings have become the law of the land because man has perverted God’s moral statutes in the name of progress and unity. This is written of throughout the prophets, Apostles, and Teachers of the Way. WAKE UP.

How we prepare ourselves is up to us. Be ready for He will come like a thief in the night. The earth shall tremble in His Name and the Word, Breath, Truth, of the Lord God Almighty will come to rule over us. Be ready, give no heed to the scoffers but stay focused in the Word not the world. Be prepared always for the holy reckoning where we will be transformed in order to survive the coming holocaust.  Live for God, Love like God, but do not laugh at those who laugh at us. God does care for all creation and I am sure it saddens Him knowing these scoffers will die permanently and never truly see the life and light. Be ready brothers and sisters the time is coming soon.

Be Thankful

Ok, so I know you feel inundated with people writing about thankfulness and then you saw this. Well, yes it is another but then again is it?   David writes in Psalm 138 humbling himself in God’s loving arms. He recognizes who God reaches closely to and who reaches out but just cannot seem to touch and feel the warm protection of God’s arms. Why does it seem that even in his riches, David consistently humbles himself? He knows God and always looks to Him no matter the circumstance. Yes he made mistakes and even broke the Commandments but God still made good on His promise due to David’s humility and the humiliation that he suffered later in life. God was always with him because of his faithfulness and thanksgiving. David knew who was in control and understood that in his wrongness, God would somehow make things right.

Some people really miss the boat when it comes to trying to understand why God sometimes allows bad things to occur. We are tested on a daily basis by the Adversary but God will make good from the bad. Not right away and it might take a generation or two but it will happen. As we go about our lives in the world today, stay humble, do your best to do what’s right and even if you fail, remember God is with you and will get you back on track as long as you maintain your faith.

Have You Received the Call to Repentance

The Minor Prophet, Joel, writes about the “Day of the Lord” which is a common theme in many of the prophets who wrote around and on either side of time of the exile. The particular section of Joel chapter 1 verses 13-20 seems to be directed towards the priests and the elders but can be interpreted and used by us as God’s People.  Why is it important to repent? Well, if you want to live in peace and the encompassing joy found in the presence of the Father then repenting (confessing and not just saying sorry), is what is desired to take part in the Salvation of our souls.

In the opening verse of this section the priests are told to literally humble themselves because the sacrifices and offerings no longer please God. Joel is exclaiming the coming of the day where a more personal relationship with be required and sacrifices will take on a whole new meaning. The physical sacrifices are withheld because the personal sacrifices and repentance have a more relational meaning to God than just burning something and eating it.

God seeks the true emotions of a man rather than the physical “I’m sorry” an leaving it at that. The deeper emotional response of repentance means you are confessing then committing yourself to make things right by exclaiming to the world your relationship with God. We as Christians do this while exclaiming our personal relationship with Christ especially if it comes from recognizing and repenting from a dark period in our lives. And God knows we all have had a few of those (well He does).

Joel tells the elders to gather the people and bring them together as an act of public mourning and repentance for falling away from God. This was also a call to prepare for the coming day of the Lord, the day of the destroyers function and God’s salvation of His People. When the dreadful day comes, all will seem lost to those who do not know God, have followed His precepts, truly repented of their sins, and accepted their fate belonging to Christ and not themselves. We must be ready for this day as well.

The “Day of the Lord” will soon be upon us if you look at all the astronomers and nay Sayers, dreamers of dreams, and some who are just talking through their teeth to make a buck. What some do is try to date it using the lunar calendar, the feasts, and other events in Judaism. Can they all be trusted? No. Should we at least pay some attention? If the credible person is speaking and has no other prophesy about the world ending then maybe. Christians and Jews who follow God’s Law and have repented will see the suffering, they might suffer a little but joy will come in the morning.

Brothers and Sisters, the time is now to confess, repent, commit. Accept Jesus fully before it is too late. Even the best Christians still need to repent every once in a while. So Go Do.
